My collection of original soft pastel paintings is often painted as studies for large mixed media and acrylic originals on canvas. However, when the study is worthy of framing, it sits along my mixed media paintings, waiting for its forever home.

I paint on 400-700 sanded paper and use acid free archival framing with non-reflective art glass.

Soft Pastels are composed of pigment, water and a smaller amount of chalk or artificial binder. The soft texture of these pastels can create smooth, smudgy lines and intense color.

Notable old masters such as Jean Baptiste Simeon Chardin, Edgar Degas, and Mary Cassatt.
